In search of a digital transformation partner, Ox Box connected with Mr. IIoT, a provider specializing in Industry 4.0 transformation and automation solutions.

Chris Misztur of Mr. IIoT became the point person for addressing Ox Box’s challenges and needs. 

“Chris understood our critical and pressing need to put something in place that would ensure our employee safety during COVID,” Mr. Ockerlund shares.

Mr. IIoT was chosen for their expertise in custom solutions. As Mr. Ockerlund states: “They are not just pulling some product off the shelf and plugging it in. The team at Mr. IIoT developed a customized solution for us.

To meet Ox Box’s immediate need for employee safety, Mr. IIoT installed scanners at both facility entrances. Those scanners automatically check employees’ temperatures upon entry and integrate with a time clock system, which seamlessly logs employee hours for payroll. “The door scanners had an immediate benefit,” notes Mr. Ockerlund.

Following the successful implementation of the safety system, Ox Box continued working with Mr. IIoT to improve manufacturing efficiency. Mr. IIoT deployed SHARC IoT sensors on Ox Box’s machinery, connecting them to a custom dashboard using Grafana. This dashboard provided real-time and historical data on machine uptime and productivity. 

“Our machines gather the data on a program called Grafana, then all of that information translates into a usable format for us to view,” says Mr. Ockerlund. The data insights from the SHARC sensors support continuous process improvements, helping Ox Box enhance productivity and provide performance-based incentives for employees on the shop floor.
